Job Description:

 The primary function is to manually take a rooted plant and place the plant in liners with soil.

Duties:

This position involves working indoors and outside growing Beautiful plants for our customers. Essential job functions will include; separate plants that have been rooted in community trays, takes rooted plant, manually trim plants with shears, cuts off access roots and place them in a tray, properly handles shears.  This involves repetitive dexterity of hands. Craftsmen work in a variety of activities, depending on the need of the company, carrying out different responsibilities including but not limited to pruning, weeding, staking & tying, potting, assembly of plants, spacing and loading of trucks.

Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed, with reasonable accommodations, to support the Monrovia Nursery organization.

Qualifications:

• Experience in agriculture work.

• Basic reading, writing and math skills.

• Able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds repeatedly and 65 pounds occasionally.

• Able to carry out movements and repetitive tasks during an 8-10-hour work day which includes but not limited to grasping, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, grasping, squatting, twisting, standing and walking for long periods of time and lifting above shoulders.

• Must be able to work under inclement weather conditions (hot, cold, and rain).

• Must be able to work safely with tools.

• Must be available to work the following schedule:

                                        Monday- Friday- 7:30am to 5pm.

                                        Saturday: 7:30 to 2:30pm

                                        Additional hours as necessary
