Young Adult Peer Mentor with personal lived experience recovering from mental health
and/or substance abuse challenges to work with youth and young adults involved
with the Department of Mental Health (DMH).


Young Adult Peer Mentor will work with youth in a variety of settings including home, school, and community with the goal
of inspiring hope and motivation, supporting the youth to communicate effectively with others, advocate for their needs, to build on youth's
strengths to achieve their goals, to role model, coach and support youth, and to promote self-care. Young Adult Peer Mentor will work collaboratively
with the youth, their family/caregivers, other treatment providers, schools, and other formal and informal supports and will connect youth with other resources
and supports as needed. Candidate must have personal lived experience, knowledge of the mental health system, excellent interpersonal skills, at least
1 year of experience working with youth with mental health needs, a current/valid MA driver's license and reliable car, a High School diploma/GED,
and has successfully completed the Core Elements of Young Adult Peer Mentoring Training.
