TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST

Academy-Framingham

 

Provide leadership in developing, achieving, and maintaining high quality technology integration into teaching and learning throughout all educational settings to support teachers in enhancing instruction, improve student performance, and assist students in becoming technologically savvy in a 220 day/12 month setting. The Technology Specialist will contribute, through a team approach, to providing a learning environment which is physically safe and intellectually open and in keeping with special education best practices.
 

Salary Range: $22.00 - $24.00/hour depending on experience + sign on bonus (half paid after 30 days of employment and half paid after 90 days of employment; pro-rated for part-time). 

 

What You Will Do:

  • Model effective instructional strategies using technology in a co-teaching environment
  • Effectively use and provide support for current technology
  • Coordinate with appropriate school personnel in use of various technology resources
  • Use data to design technology-based instructional strategies
  • Assess levels of teacher technology understanding, skills, and integration within the classroom
  • Research use of newer technologies in instruction
  • Explore web-based or other instructional technology resources
  • Develop and review instructional technology practices (Podcast, Blogs, Skype, Apps, Google classroom, etc.)
  • Collaborate with Agency IT resources to recommend hardware, software, and related resources specific to the Academic setting
  • Facilitate or conduct technology-focused professional learning for school staff
  • Train identified staff in use of appropriate technology resources
  • Assist classroom teachers in selecting technology that best fits Academic standards being taught
  • Collaborate with Teachers and Aides to deliver viable curriculum for all learners in digital literacy and computer science standards. Assist in delivery of said content on an “as appropriate” basis
  • Respond to a variety of technology-related questions from Academy staff for the purpose of providing information, guidance or referral
  • Oversee assigned projects and/or program components to ensure compliance
  • Write a monthly report to be shared with the Academy team focused on instructional technology integration into lessons/use
  • Coordinate with Academy staff and broader Agency IT/Social Media staff, when necessary, to support creation of classroom social media accounts and maintain Academy webpage.
  • Attend program functions and parent engagement opportunities as scheduled
  • Participate in scheduled engagement activities with students.

  • Demonstrates the ability to teach, mentor, and coach others (i.e. able to provide constructive feedback to Teachers and aides in regards to reading instruction, provide thoughtful instruction).
  • Demonstrates dependability and persistence (i.e. excellent follow through on assigned tasks).

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
  • At least 1+ year experience within an academic setting (preferably specialized environments), experience with instructional technology integration in classroom setting, Experience with Google for Education/Google Classroom environment.
  • Academic Specialist Licensure (Instructional Technology) or work experience equivalent.
