The Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Equity Administrative Services, Inc., creates and executes the overall Information Technology (IT) strategy for Equity Trust Company (ETC or the Company) and its affiliates. Works in harmony with the overall business strategies/focus which will enable competitive advantages. Acts as the lead technologist, setting the IT vision and tactical initiatives to support innovative growth of online investment applications and services.



•Develops IT vision, strategy and roadmap for the organization, leading the IT team and its business partners in effective execution

•Serves as a member of the Executive Committee (EC) and makes key contributions to the Company’s business strategies

•Advises senior management on emerging technologies and digital trends that are relevant to the Company’s goals and evolving needs while monitoring the industry for developments in IT operations; evaluates and implements relevant new tools and service management frameworks

•Controls the information and data integrity for all IT functions of the enterprise, including: enterprise architecture, storage, telephony, data security, communication network (voice and data) and all infrastructure engineering; ensures all data is reliable and secure

•Ensures current and planned technical architecture, investments and solutions are aligned with the Company’s strategic plan and objectives

•Directs the design, planning, implementation and maintenance of the infrastructure that supports the Company’s operations and business applications

•Establishes metrics for managing IT effectiveness and for measuring the impact of IT on the business

•Establishes appropriate service levels and the processes to ensure that Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met

•Maintains oversight of all IT projects, ensuring commitments are properly planned, staffed, monitored and reported

•Establishes a comprehensive information security program to ensure the integrity, confidentiality and availability of relevant data

•Leads the design and implementation of an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan

•Prepares and monitors the IT operational budget

•Implements an appropriate and effective IT organizational design to support and engage with the business

•Ensures transparency and collaboration between the IT organization and its business partners

•Hires, develops, evaluates, rewards and retains a highly qualified team of IT professionals

•Fosters a culture of innovation, transparency and accountability in IT

•Promotes a “business first” mentality at all levels in the IT department

•Ensures the IT department has systems analysis and project management skills and the ability to execute business-critical projects

•Establishes and enforces IT policies, processes, portfolio management; development standards and methodologies

•Reviews, recommends and oversees all vendors and managed service agreements for computing, telecommunications, IT services and equipment



•Performs other duties as assigned


Education and Experience:

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology Management or related field

•MBA or advanced degree in a related field, Computer Engineering is preferred

•Demonstrated ability to: build strong technological vendor partnerships and building relationships with them to ensure best performance and financial return

•Experience building business value with online trading/banking applications, business analysis, microservices, data warehouse, blockchain and/or project requirement estimations

•Minimum 15 years of experience in various technology roles and a minimum of 10 years of experience managing technical teams

•Experience as a CIO, CTO or equivalent position aligning technology and resources with new line of business opportunities

•Experience in the financial services or a related industry is preferred

•Experience with integration of technology platforms through mergers and acquisitions

•Experience leading an agile development organization

•Experience leading complex, major change initiative; demonstrated skills in change management

•Experience with SQL, Cloud-based hosting platforms (Azure, AWS) and Business Intelligence platforms (Sisense, Hadoop, Flink/Spark, R)

•Demonstrated ability to design and implement comprehensive approaches to cyber security and risk management

•Experience designing and managing an effective IT governance framework across the spectrum of IT service delivery


•Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) preferred

•Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) preferred

•Six Sigma Green Belt preferred

•IT Service Management (ITIL) preferred


•Working knowledge of systems that support the business including: web/commerce platform end-to-end services, Electronic Data Interchange, Business Intelligence and Analytics (BI), CRM, ERP, and workflow

•Experience with SQL, Cloud-based hosting platforms (Azure, AWS) and Business Intelligence platforms (Sisense, Hadoop, Flink/Spark, R)

•Familiarity and experience using Agile development process modern dev-ops techniques (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins) automated testing tools, volume & load testing

•Experience with online trading/banking applications, E-commerce website build outs as well as back and frontend integrations through APIs and Microservices communication between companies

•Experience with SQL, Cloud based hosting platforms (Azure, AWS) and Business intelligence platforms (Sisense, Hadoop, Flink/Spark, R)

•Familiarity with cloud level solution
