Marketing Internship

This Marketing Intern position represents a unique opportunity for candidates to gain experience and contribute in an expanding high-technology business. The Marketing Intern will support real business objectives in a live professional environment while also learning about strategic marketing, branding concepts, nationwide b2b communications and public relations/media management.

Job responsibilities of the Marketing Intern will focus on supporting Marketing Communications as follows:
  • Create and/or maintain social media content library to include copy and photo/graphic art
  • Manage social media content publishing schedule and content streams with support from supervisor, coordinate with internal department managers to achieve content approvals
  • Execute social media content publishing and community engagement according to corporate guidelines and standards
  • Establish Marcom system or business process to solicit, receive and prioritize collateral and activity requests from employees, internal stakeholders
  • Support collateral and sales enablement content creation by creating or coordinating with external design resources to deliver products according to requirements
  • Miscellaneous tasks as directed by supervisor to support business objectives
  • Ability to commit 20 hours per week, flexible schedule with advance coordination
Job responsibilities of the Marketing Intern could also include supporting the team in the following areas depending on individual skillset:
 
Graphic Design:
Creating and/or modifying graphics and design layouts for digital and print product literature, sales and marketing collateral, spec sheets, promotional items, advertisements This intern could collaborate across the marketing team and with external vendors to support initiatives with compelling on-brand design solutions and assist in procuring and editing photos.
 
Employee Communications:
Assist in executing internal communications strategy in conjunction with corporate marketing teams, draft content for internal communication mediums including intranet, newsletters, corporate emails, etc., support external marketing team to maintain consistent internal/external messaging, and identify opportunities for strengthening partner and community relationships.

What you need for success:
  • Hold a 3.0 GPA or above
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Relevant experience – candidates pursuing a technical degree must be able to demonstrate experience or strong capabilities for professional communications
  • Ability to work without sponsorship now or in the future
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited collegiate program in Twin Cities area
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills in English
  • Currently pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, engineering or physical science
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Team-oriented, self-motivated and detail-oriented
