$24 USD/Hour

 

Position Summary:  The Camp Lead is responsible for overseeing the operations of The Second City Training Center Summer Camps, including managing camp counselors. This is a full time, seasonal position running weekdays June 17 – September 6 (including training).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Oversee all logistical, administrative, and communication needs for summer camps, including but not limited to: 

Operations and Management - 

  • Train and supervise camp counselor team 

  • Order and manage inventory of classroom supplies and camp t-shirts 

  • Create weekly camp rosters using enrolment information from student registration system 

  • Supervise daily student drop-off and pick-up 

  • Ensure appropriate classroom set-up and cleanup daily 

  • Supervise lunchtime and subsequent cleanup 

  • Facilitate Friday pizza lunches and other outside class camp activities 

  • Facilitate end-of-week camp shows 

Communications -  

  • Manage parent communications (phone, email, in-person), ensuring all information shared is professional and timely 

  • Oversee dedicated camp email inbox 

  • Send welcome emails to parents with camp packet and forms 

  • Compile information from camp forms to ensure every student’s contact and medical info is up to date 

General 

  • Oversee documentation of any camp incidents or serious behavioral issues that require escalation to parents and/or senior management 

  • Assist campers requiring help due to injury, illness, personal reasons, or simply needing time away from class 

  • Maintain confidentiality concerning student medical and behavioral needs 

  • Work with camp faculty and counselors to ensure camp is a safe, welcoming environment; model appropriate behavior to campers at all times 

  • Ensure that safety procedures are followed and that all programs are in compliance with The Second City standards, all relevant regulations and other applicable standards 

 
Hours:  

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm *there might be some later hours depending on parent pick-up 

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities) – Sample Below:  

  • 3+ years experience working with children & parents in a professional setting 

  • Experience managing others and leading a team 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 – Outlook, Word, Excel 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on customer service 

  • The ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, loud environment 

  • Complete a background check meeting Second City standards 

 

Desired Qualifications 

  • CPR & First Aid certification is desired but not required
