What you can look forward to accomplishing:

As a member of the application software development team, the Software Engineer will be responsible for developing code for a desktop User Interface and client/server model (implemented using XML web services and WebApi) with persistence in SQL Server and SQL CE. The application team also interfaces with hardware control and image processing teams. Not only would you develop new user interface features and client-server methods, but you would also work in collaboration with our embedded software engineers on the server side, where responsibilities would include SQL database programming. In the long term, responsibilities will grow as support for new instrument and image-analysis functionality is required.

Skills and experience that you need to bring to our company:

Education / experience:

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent

  • C# experience

  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming

  • Authorization to work in the US

  • Strong identification with our core values: Sustainability, Openness, Enjoyment


  • Familiarity with Visual Studio 2015/2017 development environments

  • Knowledge of .NET 4.6 framework

  • Experience developing controls with WinForms and/or DevExpress

  • Understanding of XML Web Services and ASP.Net WebApi

  • Windows IIS configuration

  • Database design and relational modeling

  • LINQ / LINQ to SQL

  • Image graphics (conventional as well as GPU-based)

  • .NET Interop (COM)

  • Unit Testing (NUnit in particular)

  • Client/Server application experience

  • Installer experience (NSIS in particular)

  • Other languages: C++, XML
