KI, a world-class supplier of innovative and award-winning furniture solutions for business, educational, and healthcare environments is seeking a full-time Support Tech II (Production Coordinator-Fabrication) to join our Manitowoc Manufacturing Facility on our 1st shift.
DEPARTMENT: Fabrication – 1st Shift (Production Coordinator)
A working knowledge of the Fabrication Department
An understanding of the Fabrication scheduling process
Previous experience in a leadership role
Ability to learn and effectively utilize BPCS, email communication, and spreadsheets
Must be able to effectively communicate and provide direction to all Fabrication Department team members
Coordinate the activities of the Fabrication Department to satisfy internal/external customer requirements.
Set up production areas to ensure maximum production achieved by team members.
Communication link with Process Manager and other shifts.
Conduct huddles and attend daily production meetings in Process Manager’s absence.
Coordinate training and development of employees that will allow them to become proficient and excel across several work centers.
Assist managers in helping maintain established labor standards.
Provide input as requested for employee performance reviews.
Participate in department interviews and selection process.
Lead resource for department product and process knowledge.
Develop a working knowledge & basic proficiency on all mechanical equipment within department to help with problem solving and training.
Troubleshoot production and quality issues within the department.
Work with appropriate resources, process managers, & engineers on Fabrication specials and new product introductions.
Practice and promote growth of Lean Manufacturing techniques within Fabrication.
Assist and help maintain safety in the department.
Make manpower & overtime recommendations to process manager.
Ensure compliance with department policies and standard operating procedures.
Thorough understanding of bills of materials.
Assist in maintaining the KI Team Philosophy.
