JOB TITLE: Audio-Visual Materials Content Archivist/Editor

DEPARTMENT: Archives

This is a full-time position reports directly to the Vice President of Archives and Exhibits and is located in the Archives Department; having working hours of Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. to include holidays, some weekends, and overtime as required. This position is an integral part of the Archive and Marketing teams with a key focus on cataloging and preservation of the Estate’s audio/video collection and generating new audio/video content. This position will edit video and audio materials via an onsite editing suite. This is a promotional opportunity. Benefits may be offered after successful completion of a sixty (60) day introductory period. This is an internal/external recruitment.

RESPONSIBILITIES: • Develop content to be used by the company as a whole for the promotion and sale of EPE, Graceland and its exhibitions. • Edit and creatively develop AV elements to be used in exhibitions, ticketed event and productions, concerts and shows and other projects as determined by the company. • Work with outside vendors on a needed base to complete projects included but not limited to documentary crews, news and marketing agencies and our licensees of EPE. • Film, Edit, have creative input on projects for both internal and external use. • Create a complete catalogue of the estate’s audio-visual collection, including but not limited to organizing, numbering, duplicating, scanning, describing, cataloguing, analyzing, and entering information into a computerized system; • Create and maintain accessible, retrievable computer archives and databases, incorporating current advances in electric information storage technology • Ensure the long-term preservation and easy retrieval of the collection; create, organize and maintain orderly physical storage of the collection; • Follow preventative preservation policies and procedures currently in place; • Create, edit, produce HD/SD video and motion graphics for video press releases and other media/promotional strategies, website/social networking sites content and other marketing initiatives • Create, edit, produce HD/SD video and motion graphics for exhibit , retail spaces and multimedia intensive live event; create, edit, produce HD/SD video and motion graphics for proprietary digital signage, closed circuit TV network and other on-site signage. • Develop sales materials with support from EPE’s in-house graphic design team and or outside vendors as required. • Assist with event productions including but not limited to on-site and off-site Elvis week and other events. • Identify and work with vendors in the production and postproduction process when needed on internal and external projects; • Research and identify new archival materials possibly available for use and or acquisition • Research and recommend new production and post production equipment and software as needed • Develop audio/visual content for outside vendors use. • Develop content to be used at concerts, special events and other EPE licensed events. • Create/Edit/Produce Elvis themed audio-visual components for DVD projects for sale. • Attend/Organize meetings to understand company and project goals in developing creative content for multi platforms both for internal and external use. • Stay current in music, pop culture and social media to generate innovative ideas • Deliver final content to the all platforms as determined by project lead to include but not limited to on-air/social/digital platforms • Take creative direction and input from managers but also work independently • Open caption all video elements used for exhibitions. • Assist with Archives long term planning, conservation goals and preservation needs as it pertains to the AV collection. • Assist the appropriate staff in having access to the archives AV collection as required. • Participate in staff meetings and planning sessions to determine overall goals and objectives of department. • other duties as assigned.


REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills are essential. Must have high school diploma or equivalent; College degree in related field preferred; background in museum studies or artifact related field helpful; 3 years experience working in video editing with key knowledge of the newest doftware and editing techniques; knowledge of professional museum principles, practices and procedures related to collecitons and preservations of archival audio/visual footage; denomstrated experience in handling fragile matierial; organizational skills; creativity; storage and conservation knowledge is preferred; must be extremely meticulous and detail oriented; must be knowledgable of current field standards and practices; excellent computer skills as well as being familiar with database entry; ability to make good judgement decisions; ability to work in a confidential area; must be objective; ability to cope with a heavy workload and varying hours and days resulting in deadlines; experience in operation of film handling; interpersonal skills; ability to work with sensitive issues and objects and maintain confidentiality; ability to be flexible and adaptable to all types of situations.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to stoop, reach and stand for long periods of time; ability to work in a confined area; a good clear speaking voice is essential in order to communicate and work as a team; the ability to see details accurately; ability to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds.


SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Ability to work in areas that may be confined areas with limited space and no windows.


CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Work flexible hours and overtime as required.
