PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS

1.    Ensure operational effectiveness in the casino department by deploying methods of process engineering and process management.
2.    Solve casino department operational issues through Business Intelligence and Analytics. 
3.    Streamline tools used by casino staff to achieve optimal usage and efficiency. 
4.    Create and implement Service Development Plans and Service Levels Agreements for the casino department. 
5.    Manage and evaluate casino staff performance.
6.    Ensure budget numbers are being met.
7.    Complete monthly gaming activity audit checklist.
8.    Contributes to operational issues as they develop and shares information with casino staff through regular attendance at Shift Manager’s meetings and at departmental preshifts.  Directs operations staff to conduct preshift meetings to address departmental concerns, review new policies or procedures, or direct handling of company or department training efforts.    
9.    Reviews employees CTR training and ensures applicable personnel pass necessary testing or qualify for retesting.  
10.    Optimizes floor and game action by ensuring all tables and equipment necessary for game action is ready for play immediately, including playing cards for Poker, Pan and California section, Pai Gow Tiles, ordering dice cups, card vaults, numbered seals and table felts.
11.    Assists in tournaments by ensuring giveaways and promotional items are ready for distribution and properly recorded.
12.    Assign discipline track for monthly pre shift topics.
13.    Work with marketing to develop marketing and promotional plans with at least a 3 month lead time.
14.    Communicate and coordinate with all levels of management/departments to ensure operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
15.    Maintains visual presence on casino floor.
16.    Report abnormal or suspicious activity to surveillance and/or security.
17.    Monitor game operations to ensure that house rules are followed, that state, and federal regulations are adhered to, and that employees provide prompt and courteous service. 
18.    Ensures compliance with federal and state gaming regulations.
19.    Have knowledge of and enforce BSA/AML policies and procedures.
20.    Maintain knowledge of the games offered and strategies or tricks used to cheat at such games.
21.    Enforces corrective action against individuals caught cheating. 
22.    Evaluate employee performance and prepare written performance evaluations.
23.    Assist in establishing policies and procedures on new and existing types of games offered.
24.    Review operational expense and budget estimates for accuracy.
25.    Performs all other work-related duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Casino Operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  A bachelor’s or higher degree in business administration from an accredited college or four year university, preferred.

Work Experience:  Ten (10) plus years of experience in casino business operations,

Must be able to communicate effectively with government official, law enforcement agents and Commerce Casino’s board members, officers and employees and demonstrate the capacity to relay information in an unbiased and professional manner.  Must possess an ability to work with minimal supervision and make educated ethical decisions as necessary.  Must be able to resolve conflicts and have effective communication skills with all levels of employees and be able to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment. Must demonstrate an ability to work independently and to prepare detailed professional correspondence, memoranda, policies, procedures and regulations related to the employee’s duties. A general knowledge of the Windows based computer operating systems is also required.
