STATEMENT OF THE JOB 
The Access Coordinator manages incoming calls and inquiries related to obtaining services at the CCNS Article 31s and 32s and related programs. The Access Coordinator will obtain demographic and insurance information from callers, as well as other relevant information needed, to process the referral and schedule an intake appointment or if not eligible for services at a CCNS clinic to refer out via the Call Center. Access Coordinator will provide callers with information regarding clinic policies and regulations. Access Coordinator will enter information into the Patient Registration System. The Access Coordinator will obtain appropriate signature on consents, medical, legal, and financial forms. The Access Coordinator performs a variety of other administrative duties related to caller’s admission to a clinic, including but not limited to verification of callers’ insurance information and prior account balances, preparation of client's charts, and registration forms. The Access Coordinator will also be responsible for rescheduling cancelled appointments for new and existing clients and outreach to Urgent Care Pool List (UCPL) clients who did not show to their appointment.
The Agency has embraced the concept of a fully integrated system of care for all consumers of service. The Access Coordinator will be required to always maintain a professional and ethical disposition. All staff are required to read and commit to fulfilling the Agency and Integrated Health and Wellness Mission Statement. All staff are required to comply with all funding sources and CCNS requirements for background checks including fingerprinting for criminal background checks; database checks; and any others required by either CCNS or the program’s funding source.  
•    Facilitate and triage intake processes for incoming clients.
•    Conduct a brief screening of client needs (using a standardized risk screening tool), triaging clients with urgent needs so that they get rapid access to services.
•    Contacts insurance carrier(s) to obtain all information necessary for the successful billing of third-party payors in certain departments (coordination of benefits, benefit coverage/limits, co-pay/deductible amounts, authorization, pre-certification and referral requirements etc.).
•    Re-verifies insurance of recurring patients. 
•    Perform insurance benefit verifications, disseminating the information gathered to clients and/or their families, and other appropriate clinic staff.
•    Communicates Agency’s collection policy and collects deductibles and co-pay/fee balances. 
•    Collaborates, communicates, and forwards required documents to clinic support staff.
•    Schedules clients for clinic visits. 
•    Ensure all required intake documentation is sent and received from client or advocate prior to client arrival.

QUALIFICATIONS
•    High School Diploma or GED required.
•    Bachelor's degree in social work or counseling preferred.
•    Minimum two years’ experience working with individuals in healthcare, preferably within the area of specialty for hiring agency.
•    Strong knowledge of health insurance benefits preferred.
•    Strong interpersonal skills to be able to effectively relate with the public, clients, organizations, and other employees.
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•    Excellent customer service skills with prior experience
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard healthcare systems.
•    Communicate effectively in English (speaking and reading). If Bi-lingual must be proficient in language to qualify for language differential.
