POSITION SUMMARY


The Lab Coordinator assists in all QC laboratory operations and personnel, ensuring inventory is maintained and valid results are reported with efficiency.  The Lab Coordinator will be responsible for the lab and all approvals when the Lab Manager is unavailable.

  

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with ensuring that all procedures are followed and valid results are reported

  • Receive and route all samples submitted to the QC lab and establish priorities for those samples

  • Review and appraise all analyses for completeness and accuracy

  • Assist Lab Technicians with testing when short-staffed

  • Assist with lab training

  • Communicate with appropriate personnel in the plant to facilitate production

  • Comply with and delegate any routine and special requests – retrieving retains, copies of QC analyses, non-routine tests, etc.

  • Assist with all files on raw materials, finished products, packaged products, standardizations, and daily test logs

  • Oversee labeling, organization, and storage of samples

  • Responsible for lab inventory

  • Maintain a clean, organized lab by delegating necessary tasks

  • Maintain a good attitude and work ethic

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related field

  • 4+ years related experience

 

NECESSARY ATTRIBUTES

  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management

  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Must be able to identify problems and propose solutions

  • Must be able to assign duties and motivate other lab personnel

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills

  • Self-motivated and detail oriented

  • Fosters positive work relationships and is a solid team player

  • Supports the strategic and operational direction of the business

 

POSITION PREFERENCES

  • Good working knowledge of general Chemistry with Petroleum Chemistry
