The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing the mechanical equipment located in the Dickinson Plant.  Equipment includes but is not limited to various brands of rotating equipment, motors, valves and centrifuge. The position will play a key role in monitoring equipment with a goal of achieving higher equipment availability and lower maintenance costs through the application of predictive maintenance technologies to include, but not limited to, vibration monitoring and analysis, steam tracing and insulation repair and application.



  • Provide work coordination with other projects and departments
  • Manage daily work schedule, providing technical advice and quality control to review and carry out preventive and predictive maintenance assignments in a timely manner
  • Provide leadership and safe practices in all job tasks by maintaining responsibility for safety and environmental compliance
  • Troubleshoot and identify equipment problems and obtain any necessary support
  • Identify equipment problems and understand the consequences of equipment failure and repair errors
  • Manufacture new parts, repair damaged equipment and operate assorted maintenance shop equipment
  • Read, understand and make mechanical drawings for fabrication or modification of equipment components
  • Coordinate task hazard assessment when performing work, parts research and ordering
  • Assist in maintaining an adequate inventory of back-up equipment, replacement parts and shop materials to ensure the proper operation of manufacturing
  • Initiate repairs and take preventive and corrective actions



  • 1+ years of experience working as a maintenance technician specializing in rotating equipment in an industrial maintenance environment
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future



  • The ability to routinely lift, carry and push items up to 50 lbs in weight, as well as the ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders over long periods of time
  • Ability to work outside for long periods in adverse weather conditions, high temperature and humidity, rain, cold etc.
  • Ability to wear PPE as needed including, but not limited to, eye/face protection, foot protection, gloves, hearing protection and head protection



  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to overcome obstacles and make good decisions
  • The ability to read, understand and apply information from technical manuals and other reference materials, including prints, drawings and schematics



  • Vibration Analyst Certification

  • Experience with root cause failure analysis (RCFA), infrared analysis and reliability centered maintenance (RCM)

  • Experience rebuilding industrial motors and pumps

  • Experience working with mechanical seals and ability to align industrial pumps/motors

  • Training and certification in the safe operation of forklifts and other motorized equipment
