We are currently looking for an E&I Specialist/ Sr. E&I Specialist for our Channelview, TX office.

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

 

To carry out daily operation and maintenance tasks associated with compression facilities at BLM’s pipeline network and the area’s associated pump stations and facilities.  This position will be responsible for environmental, health & safety for ethylene, ethane, ammonia, and Hydrogen Chloride (HCl), through the pipeline system, pump stations, and associated facilities located in Channelview Texas area.  Specific duties will consist of, but are not limited to, valve inspections, One Calls, E&I functions, meter testing and calibrations of the various products. This position will be responsible for performing assigned preventive mechanical and E&I duties related to pump stations and associated facilities. This position will be responsible for recognition and reporting of abnormal and safety related operating conditions, accident and near miss reporting, as well as emergency response.  This position is also responsible for regulatory compliance, operations, maintenance, and repair procedures as associated with DOT 195 and DOT 192 regulations, industry standards, manufacturer, and company guidelines as they relate to facility equipment and appurtenances.  This position will be expected to respond to call-outs and be on a call-out rotation related to the pipeline and other area operating facilities. Successful candidate will be required to complete Core Blocks in Safety, Environmental and Company policies and procedures.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • More than 5 years of experience on pipeline, pump station, and terminal operating systems
  • DOT 195 & DOT 192 knowledge and experience in compliance
  • Mechanical maintenance experience
  • Basic understanding of Electricity and Instrumentation
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of personnel
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills and a strong ability for prioritizing and scheduling multiple projects
  • Experience with Microsoft programs
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow Company procedures and manufacturers guidelines
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet in order to transfer tools and equipment
  • Ability to operate valve control wheels with a minimum of 50 turns
  • Ability to work alone as required in extreme weather conditions including hot, cold, muddy, and wet environments
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Strong commitment to personal and team safety

 

PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • 10 Plus years of petro-chemical industry experience
  • 5 Plus years Electrical Experience
  • 5 Plus years Instrumentation & Automation experience
  • 5 Plus years gas measurement experience
  • Technical school or college



REQUIRED EDUCATION:

 

  • High School Diploma

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION: 

 

  • Associate Degree
