Mechanic Supervisor

SpecPro Professional Services is recruiting for a Mechanic Supervisor at Fort Irwin, CA. The Mechanic Supervisor performs work as directed by management and manages the Landfarm to best meet the needs of our fleet at the Ft. Irwin Hazardous Waste Mission.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)

The Mechanic Supervisor oversees and maintains our fleet in support of Fort Irwin’s Hazardous Waste mission. The responsibilities include

• Monitor and oversee maintenance of fleet and all repair and installation activities
• Perform maintenance activities on large earth moving equipment, mobile and stationary equipment
• Perform and ensure preventative maintenance is up to date for all equipment
• Manage workload and supervise maintenance helpers
• Monitor parts and inventory
• Monitor electric and hydraulic systems
• Operate heavy equipment and maintain the Landfarm
• Ensure health and safety policies are followed
• Trains employees on new equipment, maintains training records
• Submitting and managing work orders
• Attend weekly maintenance meetings
• Send weekly GFE equipment reports
• All other duties assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

• High School diploma or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years fleet service experience
• 2+ years supervisory experience
• Experienced in mobile servicing
• Reliable transportation to get to work
• Valid Class C (minimum) driver’s license

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to follow directions
• Proficient in welding
• Ability to keep track of repair activities using MS Office Suite
• Heavy Equipment Operation
• Excellent communication skills
• Problem solver and team builder
• Class A or Class B license preferred
• While performing this job, employee is regularly required to sit, squat, use hands to feel or reach, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl.
• Employee must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds
• Ability to use good judgment and common sense when performing job functions. 
• Ability to be punctual and possess patience to work under stressful conditions. 
• Ability to follow direction and work in a team environment.
• Ability to uphold and follow all safety standards.
