Bristol Bay Alaska Tourism is seeking a Kitchen Assistant in Aleknagik, Alaska.
Terms: Full time
Salary/rate: Minimum Wage + Overtime + Weekly tips
Requirements: Work 6 days / week
About us: We are located on beautiful Lake Aleknagik, roughly 25 miles outside of Dillingham.
We operate as a fly-out fishing lodge in Bristol Bay. We cater to roughly 20-24 clients a week. Our
season runs from early June through the end of September. Room and Board provided.
About the role: The Assistant chef will work along side the Head Chef in a dynamic, fast-paced,
often hectic environment. The ability to be a team player, stay organized, work quickly and
efficiently in high-stress situations are essential. A well-developed sense of taste and smell and
good personal hygiene are also important. Candidates must possess a passion for food and cooking with some previous hands-on experience in food service industry. Not required but helpful is experience
working in remote locations with limited to access to product. You will be required to maintain professional attitude, communicate clearly with management and clients, respect client confidentiality, work effectively and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Make daily lunches for clients and guides
- Pack lunches for Ily-outs
- Prepare and bake breakfast breads, muffins, etc.
- Food preparations for dinner
- Make and bake cookies
- Prep a salad or soup for dinner
- Make hors D’oeuvres
- Maintain a clean and sanitized kitchen
- Daily sweep and moping of floors, sanitizing all surfaces
Candidate requirements:
- Alaska Food Handlers Card
- Taps Card (Alcohol Server Card)
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- Ability to lift ~ 30 lbs
