BCS- Reporter1

The Eagle, Bryan, Texas, United States of America Req #3432
Thursday, May 9, 2019

The Bryan-College Station Eagle is looking for a driven reporter interested in covering the stories and people in two thriving cities and an eight-county
region. The position requires an organized person who takes initiative, is
tenacious and has a passion for journalism in the digital age. The primary beat covers the growing cities of Bryan and College Station, but with Texas A&M University, Blinn College and the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum, there are plenty of general assignment stories as well.
We are looking for a reporter to dig into the beat, covering the issues
surrounding our twin cities before they get to a city council agenda.
Candidates should be ready to uncover hard-hitting stories as well as hometown features. Growth and development, along with the issues that come with it, are major stories for us, and we need a reporter to find the stories that our readers will be talking about. There is an opportunity to grow, shape and define the stories on the beat, and we're looking for a reporter who is up to the challenge.
Applicants with at least one year of professional reporting experience are preferred.
The Eagle was recently named Newspaper of the Year by the Texas Associated Press Managing Editors in our circulation category, and we have high expectations for what's to come. We also have passionate readers who care about their community, which is full of stories waiting to be told.
If you think you're the right fit for a small newspaper that
covers big stories,  send a cover letter, resume and clips to
darren.benson@theeagle.com.
